This involves four critical areas of financial intervention at source and destination locations viz. smoothening cash flows, breaking past debt cycles and advance traps, providing livelihood support, and financing retirement. Its services include savings management, credit, insurance, pension and social security linkages, financial literacy, and counselling.

About the Job:
RSSA is seeking an Area Manager - Financial Services. S/he will report to the general manager - financial services. S/he will play a leading role in organization'€™s expansion to Salumbar block in Udaipur district. S/he needs to frequently travel to villages and rural communities as well as Udaipur and other block areas in Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  •     Managing operations and service delivery: run and monitor the operations by field branches. This involves ensuring that targets for services such as savings, insurance, pension, and credit are met. Maintain and improve the quality and standard of services delivered and coordinating the expansion to new branches;
  •     Design, pilot, and expansion of financial literacy program: spearhead the financial literacy program. This involves design and testing of new financial literacy tools and modules, expansion of the existing programme to other centres and institutions, expansion and design of women’s savings programme, improving outreach and mobilization efforts among migrant communities, and establishing the organization’s identity in new areas;
  •     New products – design and sourcing: participate in dialogues for new product design that are appropriate for migrant communities and build liaisons with other financial service providers to source appropriate products and services;
  •     Field based research and advocacy: convert field and operational experiences into meaningful tools for research and advocacy. This includes assistance in design of research studies and impact assessment exercises, data collection, data analysis, report writing, and participation in knowledge sharing workshops;
  •     Leadership, HR, and training: assist in the recruitment of new staff, induction and training, team motivation, design of training sessions both on the field and in the classroom;
  •     Planning and administration: periodic documentation of operational performance and draft reports for submission to donors and investors. Lead planning sessions with field teams and submit quarterly and annual projections on operations, costs, revenues etc. to senior management.

Qualifications:
  •     Graduate degree in the field of Finance/Economics/Management or similar disciplines. Candidates with a Post-graduate degree in relevant subjects will also be considered;
  •     At least 2-3 years work experience in the field of financial inclusion and working with vulnerable communities. Candidates with prior operational experience in the field of finance and livelihoods will strongly be favored;
  •     Fluent in Hindi and English;
  •     Strong quantitative analytical skills, writing, and presentation skills with a knack for business projections;
  •     Willingness to be based at the block level with the energy and drive to work with rural communities in remote locations.
