Invitation to Apply to Undertake a Scoping Study on Role and
Situation of Human Rights Defenders in India in Context of Coal-Mining
Activity
Objectives of Assignment 1) To document and analyze the role
and situation of Human Rights Defenders working to expose violations and defend
the human rights of people and communities affected by coal-mining in the
central and eastern belt of India. 2) To identify the opportunities and added
value of interventions by Amnesty International and other actors as a means of
improving human rights.
Deadline for Research
Proposal to be submitted: 28 February 2013 Start of Research: 1 April 2013
(negotiable) Deadline for Final Report to be Submitted: 31 July 2013
Remuneration: £5000 fee plus expenses of up to £2000
