Background: Considering the increasing understanding of the magnitude of acute malnutrition in India, and the renewed appreciation overall of the need to address Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) programming & implementation challenges, ACF aims, within the framework of a broad strategy to fight against acute malnutrition in India, to set the first phase of a broader capacity building approach. ACF India will start its capacity building intervention with a focus on building capacities of ECHO partners and main nutrition actors in India in CMAM programming. A total of five trainings will be carried out during the first phase of the project while further investigations into technical support and capacity building needs will be carried out, the results of which will be used to develop a robust strategy and program of action for external funding.
General Objective and responsibilities: In that perspective, you will be tasked with leading and ensuring quality implementation of the National Capacity Building component of the nutrition program in India under ECHO contract. More precisely, you will be asked to:
Organize National Capacity Building program - Identify and invite partners working in nutrition together with ECHO - Liaise with international experts in different aspects of CMAM programming - Develop training plan and document on National Capacity Building Planning to share with identified participants
Review and develop training materials adapted to the India context - Review of training materials available at national level and others, as well as literature specific to India context - Lead the finalization-validation of the Nutrition in Emergencies (NiE) training materials - Develop power points presentations, hand-outs and case-studies
Lead in the design and implementation of CMAM and NiE, and support implementation and co-facilitate SMART training and SQEAC lessons learnt workshop - Organize and facilitate CMAM and NiE training integrating field-case studies - Liaise with organizations with experience in CMAM and NiE to promote their active participation - Support as co-facilitator in the SMART and NCA trainings, and SQUEAC lessons learnt workshop as per need
Manage human and financial resources of the National Capacity Building program component - Develop job description for the Deputy Capacity Building Officer and lead the recruitment process - Ensure the training and coaching of the Deputy Capacity Building Officer - Manage activity budgets, control expenditures and supervise the routine management
Participate in internal/external coordination, ensure timely reporting and develop operations - Represent ACF in meeting and thematic forums and participate in technical meetings - Ensure timely and high quality reporting as per ECHO proposal requirements - Further investigate capacity building needs, evaluate inputs, outputs and lessons learnt and produce draft report
Support building ACF and/or local partners staff capacities - Support development of training materials adapted to capacities and training of newly recruited nutrition staff - Support in planning and implementation of appropriate training curriculum for staff
Qualification and previous experience: Post-graduate degree in Health and/or Nutrition, with a specific focus in humanitarian and development contexts. Significant experience in CMAM programming as well as NiE is compulsory. Successful applicants will demonstrate a broad range of experiences in designing and facilitating technical training as well as developing training materials. Excellent English communication and presentation skills are a must. Status: Volunteer status (VSI) for applicants: - with less than 5 years of work experiences and less than 12 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO - or with more than 5 years of work experiences but less than 10 years of work experiences and less than 6 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO: - Fixed-term contract of 1 year, renewable - All expenses paid on the field: o Support to the R & R costs : 110€/month average o Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460€/ month average, o Collective or individual accommodation depending on position : 700€/month average o Food and hygiene expenses (living allowance) : 274 € o Per Diem : 185 € - €838 of indemnities per month on your bank account - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - Acquisition of 2.5 days of paid leaves per entirely worked month - Recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission + break allowances - Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris
Salaried status for applicant with: - with less than 5 years of work experiences and more than 12 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO - or with more than 5 years of work experiences but less than 10 years of work experiences and more than 6 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO - or with more than 10 years of work experiences - Total average yearly gross income : from 42245€ to 47120€ - Fixed-term contract, provided by ACF according to the French legislation. - All expenses paid on the field: o Support to the R & R costs : 110€/month average o Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460€/ month average, o Collective or individual accommodation depending on position : 700€/month average o Food and hygiene expenses (living allowance) : 274 € o Per Diem : 185 € - Gross monthly salary ranging from €1600 to €1975 (13rd month included), depending on relevant experience - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - 25 days of annual paid leaves - 20 days of extra leaves per year (taken as recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission) + break allowances - Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris.
