We are looking for: A NUTRITION AND HEALTH PROGRAM MANAGER – SMART SURVEY
Country: India – Budhampur (Madya Pradesh State)
Background and general objective: Within India, the state of Madhya Pradesh has some of the lowest development indicators, and is among the states with the worst nutritional indicators. Nutrition causal factors such as food insecurity remain very high due to factors such as lack of industries, poor capacity to repay loans, large tribal population, low levels of education, remote habitation and poor roads. ACF has been operating in parts of Burhanpur district covering 20 villages for over 18 months. Within the new phase program starting in September 2013, ACF will scale-up its activities to 80 villages, covering a total of 121,000 people. An integrated SMART survey as well as a Nutrition Causal Analysis is planned to be carried out within the first months of the scaling up phase. In that perspective, you will be in charge of preparing, organizing, supervising, analysing and writing the report of the Integrated SMART survey in Budhanpur.
Responsibilities: As such, you will have to:
- Prepare, organise, and implement the Integrated SMART survey
- Collect field data for correction and analysis (using ENA-SMART software)
- Analyse and interpret data from all sectors of survey and other sources if relevant
- Write the integrated SMART survey preliminary and final report and present to stakeholders
Qualification and previous experience:
Post-graduate diploma in nutrition and/or public health, with a specific focus on humanitarian and developments contexts. A significant experience in undertaking nutrition surveys on the field is compulsory, as well as a first-hand knowledge and experience of the SMART survey methodology and ENA, Epi/ENA or Epi Info software. Successful applicants will demonstrate excellent English writing and presentation skills. A previous experience in India is an asset. Status: Programs managers: Volunteer status (VSI) for applicants: - with less than 5 years of work experiences and less than 12 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO - or with more than 5 years of work experiences but less than 10 years of work experiences and less than 6 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO: - Fixed-term contract of 1 year, renewable - All expenses paid on the field: o Support to the R & R costs : 110€/month average o Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460€/ month average, o Collective or individual accommodation depending on position : 700€/month average o Food and hygiene expenses (living allowance) : 274€/month o Per Diem : 185€/month - €838 of indemnities per month on your bank account - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - Acquisition of 2.5 days of paid leaves per entirely worked month - Recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission + break allowances - Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris
Programs managers: salaried status for applicant with: - with less than 5 years of work experiences and more than 12 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO - or with more than 5 years of work experiences but less than 10 years of work experiences and more than 6 months of humanitarian experience in expatriation with NGO - or with more than 10 years of work experiences - Total average yearly gross income : from 42245€ to 47120€ - Fixed-term contract, provided by ACF according to the French legislation. - All expenses paid on the field: o Support to the R & R costs : 110€/month average o Transportation costs to and from the mission : 460€/ month average, o Collective or individual accommodation depending on position : 700€/month average o Food and hygiene expenses (living allowance) : 274€/month o Per Diem : 185€/month - Gross monthly salary ranging from €1600 to €1975 (13rd month included), depending on relevant experience - Social benefits: Medical, life and accident insurance provided by the institution - 25 days of annual paid leaves - 20 days of extra leaves per year (taken as recovery time breaks of one week every 2 or 4 months depending on the mission) + break allowances - Pre departure training, at the HQ in Paris
