Roles and Responsibilities:
URC is seeking energetic, progressive individuals to fill the 19 positions of District Improvement Coordinators in 19 Districts of 5 States (Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Delhi) These positions will serve as the technical lead in quality improvement at the district level and provide necessary support and overall guidance for project activities aimed at fulfilling the R-MNCH+A strategy in India
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership to the implementation of USAID funded ASSIST Project at the district level Maintain excellent coordination with the District Health Officials, State lead partner and other stakeholders. Assist with the selection of health facilities, communities and prioritization of quality improvement interventions at the district level Lead the establishment of quality improvement teams at the health facility and community levels Organize and facilitate learning sessions for the quality improvement teams Pay regular coaching visits to the health facilities and communities Actively participate in data collection from the sites where ASSIST project is implemented Support the development of district level improvement plan for the role out of R-MNCH+ A Strategy Assist with the improvement of bottom up and top down communications Build capacity of front line health providers both in private and public practice in quality improvement Provide timely reports to the State Improvement Coordinator and ASSIST main office in Delhi Manage project staff at the district level Ensure efficient functions of administrative and financial processes and maintain adequate internal controls Provide timely administrative and financial report to the appropriate person assigned by the Chief of Party/DCOP Any other duty assigned by COP/DCOP
Minimum Qualifications: Have MBBS degree from a recognized University. MD or equivalent preferred. 3-5 years experience providing technical support to national, state or district level health projects Technical expertise in areas such as Quality Improvement, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent health
Excellent coaching, facilitation and team playing skills Required to have strong interpersonal, oral and written communication and presentations skills in Hindi and English. Ability to engage effectively with a range of different stakeholder groups, including clients/donors, public/private sector officials, and partners, as evidenced past professional responsibilities. Ability to travel within the district, between districts and states (>50% of time) Experience with USAID structure and regulations a plus Some experience with management of finances and logistics
Duration of Contract: One year with possibility of extension Compensation offered: depending on qualification experience and URC salary rules and regulations
